Probably if you looked already for walks in Levadas Madeira island, you heard about walking in this area, but please note, the way we present this walk to you, its not the standard lakes or rabaçal offered, it has a longer distance and a harder level, as its not all done in levada, but also in the old paths in the middle of the vegetation. Rabaçal is (and it’s fair) one of the most beautiful untouched Laurisilva reserves in the island, This makes it very popular, with all its amazing waterfalls as the 25 fountains and Risco, Lagoa do Vento, poça da Dona Beja etc. That’s exactly why we love it, especially for the number of amazing waterfalls and lakes, that we have included on our walking itinerary, creating a different and more complete way to guide you trough this magic Laurisilva Forest! In this Waterfalls Valley Levada Walk we will walk some “more alternative” paths far away from the regular ones, wich will make us able to show you some of the more hidden gems of the area. Please be aware that this walk, its not the regular common offered 25 fountain walk most big companies offer, not only done in a small group, covers more trail!
This is a mixed walk done in trails and Levada, please make sure you wear appropriate footwear and clothes, and that vertigo, tunnels and tough climbs are not a problem for you! All the extra equipment that you may need, like walking sticks, can be provided by us, if previously asked, but we advise you to wear appropriate, warm and comfortable clothes, and don’t forget to pack your own snack/picnic and water!
