The SouthSurf – Full Day 4×4 Safari to Lost South West Fishing Villages

This is without any doubt one of our favourite tours to our favourite places on the island! Done in one of the sides of the island which usually it’s not on the mainstream visitor’s list, this is southwestern part is different from all the rest. We started doing this tour especially for the repeat visitors who come back with us and wanted to see some more and decided this year do it with anyone who would like.

From its amazing mountains to beautiful fishing villages the clear blue sea and green nature contrasts with all the small towns like a painting lost in time which we will make part off. Will pass through the amazing banana fields of Madalena do Mar, and walk on the narrow stone cobbled streets of Paul and Jardim do Mar, world-known by many surfers as the Hawaii of Europe, let’s go and explore the wild beaches who got their fame. Stopping at local places, to taste the local delicacies in a very relaxed ride specially designed with love for who want to see a bit more of our island.

Our tours, Up Mountain Madeira Tours, are all done in a very calm, safe and relaxed way by a local certified guide. We love our rare classic Portuguese jeeps, completely restored,  military style (yes, it’s a real 4×4), because they allow us to reach really incredible places, always in small groups of 4 to 6 or 8 people, we usually go on old roads and off-road, off the beaten track!

During this tour, each time a good photo opportunity arises, we will stop, and along the way talk about the places and life of these regions of Madeira, in a relaxed and informative way.
